In yet another incident of pre-poll violence in Manipur, an election worker was injured when unidentified ultras attacked the residence of assembly speaker and NCP candidate S Dhananjoy at Okram Leikai in Imphal on Monday night. Police said in Imphal on Tuesday that a gang of seven militants tried to storm the house of the speaker contesting from Thongju assembly constituency. When the ultras were resisted by the NCP workers, they fired a volley of bullets, injuring one. In another incident of pre-election violence, unidentified extremists fired several rounds at the house of Congress candidate from Yaiskul assembly constituency Elangbam Kunjeswar on Monday night. His security guards returned the fire. However, none was injured.
