Kolkata, June 28: Hardening its stance against
dissidence, Trinamool Congress today dissolved its Midnapur
district committee, headed by rebel MLA Dipak Ghosh, show
caused for going against the party decision of the current
boycott of the extended session of the West Bengal assembly.
"The Midnapur district committee of the Trinamool
Congress headed by Dipak Ghosh has been dissolved and a new
body will be reconstituted soon," TC leader Pankaj Banerjee
told reporters here.
The dissolution of the unit in politically important
Midnapur district came close on the heels of the show-cause
notice served on Ghosh on June 26 after he in a letter on June
25 urged the party to lift the boycott of the current session.
Pankaj Banerjee said, "We have since received a reply to the show-cause notice and it has been sent to the disciplinary committee which will take appropriate steps."

Another MLA Arunava Ghosh also wrote to the party high command urging for lifting the boycott. But Pankaj Banerjee made light of Arunava Ghosh's letter saying that MLAs were free to give suggestions, but Dipak Ghosh had 'maligned' party supremo Mamata Banerjee while expressing his views which went against the spirit of the party decision.
