TC suspends rebel MLA
Kolkata, July 10: Trinamool Congress today suspended its rebel MLA Sibdas Mukherjee for attending the West Bengal assembly defying the party`s decision to boycott the proceedings but withdrew suspension of another legislator Dipak Ghose who had questioned the boycott decision.

TC chief whip in the assembly Sobhandev Chattopdhyay told
newsmen that TC legislature party had yesterday recommended
Mukherjee's suspension which was ratified by the disciplinary
committee of the party today.
Mukherjee who attended the house for the second day today defying party's diktat, had already stated that he was not bothered about his suspension and would continue to participate in the proceedings of the assembly.
Chattopadhyay said that the rebel MLA was informed of his suspension in a letter by the party.
Trinamool Congress also apprised assembly speaker Hasim Abdul Halim of Mukherjee'e suspension, he said adding that the party would write to the speaker to allot a separate seat for the suspended legislator.
