deportation, immigration officials said.
German prosecutors say that Seyam Reda, a German
citizen of Egyptian descent, is under investigation for
suspected support of a "foreign terrorist organization."
He was arrested in Jakarta in September for alleged
links to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network, but Indonesian
police later said they found no evidence to support that
claim.
Reda was eventually sentenced to 10 months jail in
Indonesia for visa violations.
"Reda is scheduled to be sent to Germany soon", said immigration official Dani, who goes by a single name. He declined to give more details. Reda has denied all wrongdoing and claimed he was in Indonesia as a journalist.
With no current arrest warrant for him in Germany, it was not clear if authorities there would seek to detain him once he arrives.
