ABTO withdraws case in SC against additional entry fee on WLL
New Delhi, Nov 04: Consequent to the government`s approval for the move to have single licence for basic and cellular services, the basic telecom operators today decided to withdraw their appeal against levying of additional entry fee for WLL mobile services as recommended by TDSAT.

ABTO had filed petition in the supreme court last month
seeking directions to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India
against proposing such levies.
The government last week accepted TRAI's proposals in toto in this regard, wherein TRAI had recommended different fees for different circles.
According to TRAI's calculations, Reliance Infocomm, which operates in 17 circles, would have to pay Rs 221 crore, while Tatas would have to pay Rs 129 crore. Bureau Report
