New Delhi, Oct 24: Welcoming government's recent initiatives to normalise relations with Pakistan, CPI-M today said it hoped the measures would lead to resumption of talks between the two countries at the political level.
"The CPI(M) has consistently maintained that irrespective of the serious problems that exist in relations between the two countries, it is only through improvement of bilateral relations that we can go forward to seeking to resolve the differences," party polit bureau said in a statement here.
It said it expected that the ongoing steps being taken to normalise relations would "lead to resumption of dialogue between the two countries at the political level".
"All those who wish for peace and normalcy in relations between the two countries will support an agreement between the two governments on all such measures," it added.
