New Delhi, Nov 09: The BJP today hit out at the Madhya Pradesh government for overdrawing power from the western grid in its efforts to woo voters in view of the coming assembly elections in the state on December 01. This overdrawing of power from the western grid by the Madhya Pradesh government to woo voters in view of the coming assembly elections is not only violation of discipline but has also created a gap of 4,000 mw resulting in power shortage in states like Maharashtra and Gujarat," party spokesman Prakash Javdekar told reporters here. He said the state had been told before this withdrawal of power that it should refrain from doing so yet it persisted with it and therefore a committee be set up by the Union Power Ministry to look into this action by the state government.
