New Delhi, May 28: Shiromani Akali Dal (Master Tara Singh) today demanded banning of two books for alleged derogatory remarks against Sikhs and Guru Nanak. "A Urdu book 'Gurunanakji Saheb Aur Unke Talim' - has certain derogatory remarks against the Sikh guru which are objectionable. Besides, another book 'Purukh Guru' published by some Namdhari persons also has some derogatory remarks against the Sikh community and Guru Gobind Singh," party president jathedar Rachhpal Singh claimed here.

"We demand appropriate action from authorities to ban the two books immediately since they might create social tension," Singh told reporters.

He charged Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee with failure to keep a track of all published books which have reference about Sikhs and their gurus.

Singh also demanded immediate declaration of Punjabi as the second official language of Delhi.
