Dehradun, Sept 14: Bharati Cellular Ltd has announced expansion of its Airtel service in 25 towns in western Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal with an additional investment of Rs 80 crore this year. This will take the total investment by Airtel to Rs 230 crore within 22 months of operation in the region, the company said.
Airtel will provide its service in Firozabad, Hathras, Gajraula, Philkua and Mawana by the end of November this year in the first phase and it will install 104 new base stations taking the total number in the region to 304, said Sanjay Nandrajog, CEO Bharti Cellular Ltd (north central region). In the second phase, Airtel would provide its services to towns like Kashipur and Bajpur in Uttaranchal, he said. "We are ensuring that the Airtel mobile service is available to a larger base of customers within a very short time," he added. Bureau Report
