Lucknow, July 20: The CBI team, probing the controversial Taj heritage corridor project, has asked Uttar Pradesh government to provide it all documents relating to the project, official sources said here today. The team, led by DIG P Neeraj Nayan, met state chief secretary D S Bagga yesterday and handed over a letter to him seeking all documents and files relating to the project.
The team enquired about the steps taken by the administration with regard to the project and the funds released for the same, the sources said. The state government has already ordered an inquiry, to be conducted by principal secretary (finance) N C Bajpayee, into the project.
Chief Minister Mayawati has suspended principal secretary (environment) R K Sharma in connection with the controversy surrounding the project. Bureau Report
