Bangalore,June 30: BPL has reported a drop in its gross sales from Rs 1804.23 crore to Rs 1366.50 crore during the fiscal ended March 31, 2002 and a dip in its net profit from Rs 81.15 crore to Rs 37.89 crore. Announcing its audited results for the quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2002, the company said BPL has remained the "undisputed No 1" colour TV brand with a market share of 17.2 per cent as per the ORG-GFK Retail Audit.


For the quarter ended March 31, 2002, BPL achieved gross sales of Rs 309 crore in contrast to Rs 448.28 crore reported during the same period previous fiscal.

According to the results approved by the Board of Directors on Saturday, the operating profit for the entire fiscal was Rs 164.41 crore and for the quarter Rs 43.77 crore.
The company said it achieved a record CTV sales of over one million units (10,21,054) for the third consecutive financial year and also had the largest retail penetration with over 10719 dealers as per the ORG-GFK Retail Audit. Bureau Report
