Amritsar coldest in plains at 1.7 c
Chandigarh, Nov 25: There was no respite for the residents of Amritsar from the cold wave today as mercury plummeted six degrees below normal to touch 1.7 c and intense cold wave conditions continued to sweep Kashmir Valley.

Amritsar had recorded a low of 1.2 c in the plains
yesterday.
Patiala (8 c) and Ludhiana (8.4 c) recorded near similar minimums, both a degree below normal, meteorological department sources said here.
The mercury in Srinagar dropped to minus 2.2 c, a degree below normal, they said.
Ambala (7.6 c) and Hisar (10.2 c) in Haryana also witnessed a cold night.
Chandigarh recorded a low of 8.4 c, one below normal.
Bhuntar (1.2 c) and Sundernagar (2.1 c) were cold while Shimla recorded a low of 8.6 c, much warmer for the state capital for this time of the year.
Mainly sunny days have been forecast in the region over the next two days with not much change in the temperatures, sources added.
