Kathmandu, July 22: Members of the dissolved house
of representatives have urged the Maoists to come back to the
negotiation table for taking the peace process "which had
begun in right earnest" to its logical conclusion.
"The Maoists should not evade the peace process. Both
the Maoists and the government must be serious in successfully
concluding the peace process as there is no other options
available at the moment", Nepali Congress Chief G P Koirala
said at the two-day "parallel parliament", attended by
two-third members, which ended here last evening.
Accusing the Maoists of violating the code of conduct charted ahead of the talks and halting the talks which had begun in right earnest, Koirala urged the rebels "to stop terrorising party workers". Koirala asked both the Maoists and the government to make their views public about the 18-point agenda adopted by the five agitating parties, which mainly include provisions to curtail royal prerogatives and mobilization of army by the Parliament.
