Patna, June 01: Magadh Express carrying over 700 passengers, travelling from Patna to New Delhi was derailed near Baksar at 3.41 am this morning. Fourteen bogies including the engine was derailed near Prasiya village.
The villagers were the first to reach the spot and help with rescue operations.
One person is reported to have died while over a dozen are believed to be injured.
A passenger called up Zee News first, so that the people could know about the accident immediately, and the police and other rescue operations have begun.
The line has been opened up to about 15 feet. It is believed by the authorities that this opening up of the railway line to about 15 feet was meant to actually derail the Rajdhani Express that was to leave Patna at 5 am this morning. If the Rajdhani Express had been the one involved in this accident, it would have been a worse, more serious and more fatal one in nature. This accident is alledged to be the result of a conspiracy.
This accident follows the President`s travel in a train yesterday from Patna.
The Magadh Express left Patna at 1:00 am this morning- over five hours late.
The engine, the parcel and pantry bogies, a few AC chair cars, the tatkaal bogis and coaches S-12 to S-7, were the main ones to be affected and derailed with S-7, 8, 9 the most severly affected.
A relief train may be despatched if necessary. Repair workers were also hurt when they tried to cut the tension wire. They have been admitted to the hospital.
