New Delhi, May 07: A special court here today ordered release of Pota accused Ghulam Moinuddin Bhatt facing charges in connection with a case of alleged funding of terrorist activities in the country. Allowing an application moved by public prosecutor K K Singh, designated Pota judge J M Malik "discharged" Bhatt from the case and ordered that "he be released forthwith if not wanted in any other case." The public prosecutor had said in his petition that Bhatt's release would facilitate the peace process in Jammu and Kashmir. Bhatt had been charged under the Arms Act and Pota after his arrest from a South Delhi area last year while allegedly trying to pass on Rs 6.5 lakh to an associate.

Police had claimed that this money was meant for funding terrorist activities in India. Bureau Report
