Solapur, Dec 07: A local court here has issued a production warrant against the prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam Abdul Karim Telgi in connection with a eleven-year-old cheating case. First class Judicial Magistrate, Solapur, M S Shaikh issued the warrant against Telgi yesterday evening.

Telgi had allegedly cheated four people for Rs 30,000, giving false promise of service abroad and granting of visa, crime branch sources said here.

Following the unearthing of the Rs 33,000 crore stamp scam, Solapur police re-opened the 1992 case and applied to the court for issuance of warrant.

Telgi is at present lodged in a jail in Banglore. The warrant might be handed over to jail authorities on Tuesday, they added.
