Play was called off at 1630 GMT after about 7.5cm of rain fell on the course overnight.
The field will tee off on Saturday using the same tee times and pairings that were scheduled for Friday, but tour officials are uncertain what the schedule will be for the rest of the weekend.
"We've got about seven fairways out there that were underwater this morning and they got steadily worse," said tournament director Slugger White.
"We were just at a point in time where it just didn't make any sense (to try and play)."
Donnie Hammond and Australia's Gavin Coles share the lead after opening-round 65s, with Michael Clark II, Brent Schwarzrock and New Zealand's Grant Waite one stroke back.
