Mumbai, Oct 10: A special court today allowed Iqbal Kaskar, younger brother of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, to visit his father's grave at 'bada kabrasthan' in Marine Lines here tomorrow on the occasion of Shab-e-Barat. Iqbal is facing trial under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act in a land grabbing case.
Designated judge A P Bhangale ordered Iqbal to deposit Rs 8,500 cash towards expenses for providing him police escort to the kabrasthan.

The court also allowed similar facility to Iqbal's associates and co-accused Abdul Sattar Teli and Abdul Rehman Abdul Gafoor Shaikh.

Iqbal's lawyer Rizwan Merchant pleaded that his client desired to pay homage to his father on Shab-e-Barat on which day all Muslims pray for their elders at their graves.

Iqbal pleaded that he had not been to his father's grave since many years and urged that he be allowed to offer prayers at the kabrasthan.
Public prosecutor Rohini Salian said the state had no objection to Iqbal paying a visit to his father's grave for prayers but he should bear the cost of the police escort.
