New Delhi, July 15: Rebel Samata Party MP Prabhunath Singh today came down heavily on Nitish Kumar for making him the villain of a piece by blaming him for raising the issue of expulsion of two MPs at the party's national council yesterday and resigning from the Union Cabinet in a huff.
"Kumar has portrayed me as a villain. This is the message
that he sought to convey by blaming me openly for raising
certain issues before announcing his decision to resign from
the government," Singh told here.
Maintaining that he did not saying anything to hurt anyone's sentiments, the firebrand Samata Party leader said that in the next few days "dissident" MPs and legislators from Bihar would meet to take stock of the situation arising out of the latest developments in the party.
"Either people are expelled from a party or they leave it on their own or if they have adequate strength, they split," Singh said when asked if there was any move to split the faction-ridden party.
Ridiculing Kumar for resigning from the government for the fourth time, he said "I did not demand his resignation. It is his own decision".
Asked as to what he meant when he said yesterday that he would resign if the party did not improve its functioning, Singh, who was elected on a JD(U) ticket from Maharajganj in Bihar, said "I am not even a primary member of Samata Party. So where is the question of my resigning from the party. It may be from Lok Sabha."
