Kolkata, July 17: Indian cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly's voice will grace the archives of All India Radio for posterity, side by side those of legends like Mother Teresa, Satyajit Roy and Udayshankar.
Ganguly, who led India to the final of the World Cup in South Africa earlier this year, would face queries from noted former cricketer Raju Mukherjee during a bi-lingual interview to be recorded this evening. "While the bengali interview would be retained in our archive here, the english capsule would be sent to Delhi for use in our national hook-up," All India Radio, Kolkata, Station Director Asim Rej told reporters.
The rich archives of air also includes rare interviews of geniuses like painter Nandalal bose, scientist Satyen Bose, actress Kanan Devi and thespians Sambhu Mitra and Utpal Dutt.
The musical renditions of vocalists Bade Gulam Ali Khan, Girija Devi, Begum Akhtar, and the music of violinist V G Jog also form a part of the archives.
