New Delhi, June 07: Taking note of the growing
discontent among people over water and power crisis in the
capital, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said that
all ministers of her government would personally supervise and
monitor the situation.
The MLA's and councillors of the respective areas would
also assist the ministers in this regard, she said after
inaugurating the commissioning of 36 high yield tube-wells in
Palla, Burari and Iradat Nagar.
She insisted that availability of water in the city could
be enhanced substantially if leakages and wastage amounting to
more that 40 per cent could be controlled.
The commissioning of the tube wells is a part of the
Delhi Jal Board's scheme to install 110 high yield tube-wells
at a cost of Rs 9.75 crore to supply water to the rural areas
of north and north-west Delhi.
