New Delhi, June 20: Delhi Development Authority today
approved a new policy for allotment of land to petrol pumps
which would facilitate temporary allotment to all oil
companies on licence fee basis for a period of five years
through auction or tender.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the
land-owning agency at Raj Niwas here, a DDA release said.
"The need for such a policy was felt because as per the
current policy the allotment is made strictly on the basis of
seniority of the waitlisted letter of intent. Oil companies
which set up petrol pumps often used to reject sites on the
ground of economic unviability thereby leading to delay in
allotment and long waiting period," it said.
Pointing out that under the new policy the site itself
would determine its market value, it said the same would not
lie undisposed by DDA on the pretext of being unviable.
"This will also remove any discretion in allotment of
petrol pump sites and the procedure will be more transparent,"
the release said.
