Ranchi, Aug 17: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha today demanded declaration of the entire Jharkhand state as 'drought-hit' and waiver of all loans given to the farmers of the state. "The government should immediately announce Jharkhand as drought-hit and waive loans of the farmers,” JMM chief Sibu Soren told a news conference here.

The government has decided to announce 50 blocks in 12 districts as drought-hit and waive off loans of farmers who had taken loans less than Rs 10,000 in 1995.
The party had chalked out action-plans to put pressure on the government, Soren said adding demonstrations and rallies would be staged in blocks and district headquarters on September 15 and 20 respectively, while a 'parivartan maha rally' would be organised in the state capital on October 15.

A resolution adopted at the party's working committee meeting also warned the bjp-led government against any move to amend the Chotnagapur and Santhal Pargana tenancy acts following the suggestions of its national vice president Babulal Marandi, Soren added.
