Bangalore, Sept 13: Uzbek Airways plans to introduce direct flights from Uzbekistan to Ahmedabad and Trivandrum, the country's Ambassador to India, Ibrahim Mavlanov said on Saturday. "We are connected with four flights a week to Delhi, a daily flight to Amritsar. Uzbek Airways is looking at direct flights to Ahmedabad and Trivandrum," Mavlanov said here at a 'round table on business with CIS countries', organised by the Federation of Indian Export Organisations.
Urging Indian business leaders to increase trade with the CIS country, he said, about 18 Indian pharma companies had set up ventures in Uzbekistan.
Belarus Ambassador to India Uladzimir Sakalouski said his country was looking at a tie-up with the Bangalore-based public sector undertaking, Bharat Earth Movers Ltd.

"A business delegation from Belarus would discuss the possible tie-ups with BEML," he said, adding that his country had a vibrant construction equipment industry.
Sakalouski said that ayurvedic medicines from India were being administered to victims of Chernobyl nuclear disaster and "were progressing well". Bureau Report
