Disney rakes in more than $3 billion in box office takings

Disney registered the takings as of Thanksgiving Day,
Thursday, November 27, the group said in a statement.
Productions including cartoons such as ‘Finding Nemo’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ starring Johnny Depp, have seen Disney takings rise to USD 3.08 billion, a month from the end of the year, the media and entertainment group said yesterday.
The figure beats the previous record, held by Sony Pictures with USD 2.86 billion in takings of 2002, which was due notably to the popular ‘Spiderman’.
