The Paramount film, which also stars Margot Robbie and Martin Freeman, has already begun production in New Mexico and is being helmed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, Deadline.com reported.
The movie, which is being adapted to script by Robert Carlock, portrays Vand as Shakira El-Khoury, a Lebanese reporter who works in the field alongside Kim (Fey) and Tanya (Robbie), forming a close bond to the two as they navigate the male-dominated world of journalism in Afghanistan.
