New Delhi: Dadasaheb Phalke award has come in as a birthday surprise for Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee. The 'Gangs of Wasseypur' star, who turns 47-years-old today, has successfully won the prestigious honour (Critics' choice) in the Best Actor category for 'Aligarh'.

He essayed the role of Dr Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, who was sacked from his job on charges of homosexuality, in the Hansal Mehta directorial.


The award function will be hosted in Mumbai on Sunday. With this announcement, a lot of his B-Town buddies took to the social media and flooded Manoj with congratulatory messages.
