Garrett Hedlund bags lead role in Ang Lee`s `Billy Lynn`

Washington: Garrett Hedlund is set to play the second lead in Ang Lee upcoming directorial project Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk for TriStar.

Hedlund, who also plays Hook in Warner Bros' 'Pan,' will play the leader of the Bravo Company squad, Sgt. Dime, in the film, which is based on the novel by Ben Fountain, Deadline.com reported.

The story revolves around a 19-year-old private Billy Lynn , who with his mates survived a harrowing Iraq battle that is captured by news cameras. They are brought home by the U.S. administration for a promotional tour, culminating at the spectacular halftime show of a Thanksgiving Day football game, all while facing an imminent return to the war.
