I am very proud of `Oculus` remake: Saqib Saleem
The remake, like the 2013 original film, focuses on the story of a brother-sister duo, who get separated at a young age due to an antique mirror.
Mumbai: Actor Saqib Saleem says he is extremely proud that his next, Bollywood adaptation of Hollywood supernatural film "Oculus", has shaped up well.
The 27-year-old "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" star will be sharing screen space with his sister Huma Qureshi for the first time in the Prawaal Raman-directed movie.
"We have finished the film about 90 per cent with only eight to ten days of shooting left, which we will finish in a couple of months. We are looking at a May-June release right now. It has shaped up really well, I am very excited... I just saw it two days back and I was very proud of it," Saqib told PTI.
The remake, like the 2013 original film, focuses on the story of a brother-sister duo, who get separated at a young age due to an antique mirror.
Saqib says the makers have a few names in mind for the yet-untitled project and will reveal it soon. "When the film is slightly in the thriller-horror space, we don't have a vocabulary in Hindi for it. What will we call it, 'Shaapit Sheesha'? So that way it is difficult to come with a name which justifies the film... But in all honesty, we have a couple of titles, so we will be revealing the name
soon."
Meanwhile, the actor will be seen in the upcoming season six of Celebrity Cricket League where he is playing for actor Sohail Khan's team, "Mumbai Heroes".
Saqib says if not an actor, he definitely would have been a cricket player. "I was training to be a cricketer, I have played some good level cricket in Delhi and Kashmir, I captained my college team as well... But then there comes a phase in your life where you are making your career choice and deciding which way you want to go."
"That time I realised, I was good at cricket but was I that good that I would make it to the Indian team? Probably not. If not an actor, I would be 100 per cent a cricketer," he
said.
