Mumbai: Filmmaker Karan Johar has turned a full-fledged actor with Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet" and he has now expressed his desire to be directed by Gauri Shinde.

Johar, 42, plays a villain named Kaizad Khambatta in the film, which hit theatres this Friday.


Shinde, who has helmed Sridevi-starrer "English Vinglish" praised Johar's performance in the film saying, "@karanjohar what a smashing performance! Truly unique take on a villain role! Superb! Can I cast you?"


The "Student Of The Year" director replied, "Gauri! Please cast me!! Will audition for you!" "Bombay Velvet" stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in lead roles.
