New Delhi: The Bible of Bollywood romance 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' is all set to go off the 'Maratha Theatre' screen by year end. The film has been running on the silver screen in the Mumbai theatre since its release in 1995.
Interestingly, the 11:30 am slot, that had been fixed for the movie for the past two decades still goes houseful.
According to reports the Shah Rukh and Kajol starrer supehit film will go off screen in December this year. The decision has been taken by the managing director and the theatre authorities following recent drop in its collections, reports suggest.
The theatre authorities are reportedly planning to discuss the issue with director-producer of DDLJ, Aditya Chopra. The final decision will only be taken after the stakeholders give their consent.
However, confirmation from Yashraj Films about any such decision is still awaited.
Besides Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the 1995 love story also starred Anupam Kher, Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal and Satish Shah in prominent roles.
