Directed by the Spanish filmmaker F Javier Gutierrez of "Before the Fall" fame and to be released by Paramount Pictures, "Rings" stars Johnny Galecki, Matilda Lutz, and Alex Roe, reported Entertainment Weekly.

The movie was previously titled "The Ring 3D" and will continue the creepy series based on the Japanese horror flick Ringu, about a cursed videotape that kills people after days after they view it.

Paramount's other recent calendar moves include slotting the financial drama "The Big Short" and the stop-motion animated film "Anomalisa" for December openings.
