Mumbai: Many films that have had religion as their theme has often invited the wrath of religious groups and have been subjected to severe criticism.

The latest film after Sunny Deol’s ‘Mohalla Assi’ to draw the ire of religious groups is Riteish Deshmukh’s ‘Bangistan’.


The film which is based on the lives of two fictitious aspiring terrorists also features Pulkit Samrat. Both Riteish and Pulkit essay characters that belong to two different communities that are pitted against each other.


The film will certainly run into trouble with the Censor Board which is bound to consult religious group heads to pass the film, reports suggest.


Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’ which released last year in December made headlines for hurting religious sentiments. However, the film went on to become one o biggest blockbusters of all times both in India and in the overseas Box Office too.
