New Delhi, June 16: The Delhi High Court today took exception to CBI for painting a DDA scam case as that of its former judge Shameet Mukherjee and asked the agency to refer to it as a road widening case. "You (CBI) are saying like that because it suits you," Justice S K Agarwal observed directing the agency to call it a road widening case and not a “Mukherjee case”.
The court's observation to this effect came when CBI counsel R K Dutt while narrating the four cases registered by the agency pertaining to DDA scam said that the Shameet Mukherjee case was registered on April 29. The court observed referring the name of former judge in such a way creates a problem.
The court was hearing the bail application of sacked DDA vice chairman Subhash Sharma, hotelier Vinod Khatri and alleged middleman Dharmbir Khattar in a case pertaining to the widening of road on the Aruna Asaf Ali Marg in south west Delhi. Mukherjee, who resigned after the scam was exposed, is also an accused reside in the case. Bureau Report
