Kolkata, Aug 07: Formidable Mohun Bagan maintained their clean slate prevailing over ever ready association 2-0 in a Kolkata super division football league encounter here today. The city giants, who stormed past Bhratri Sangha 3-1 in their league lung-opener, scored once in each half to take their points tally to six from two outings.
Lolendra Singh and SK Sanjib found the target for the winners who had the better share of the exchanges on their home ground.
Ever Ready, on the other hand, tried to put up resistance in patches with Nigerian recruit C Emeka spearheading their moves. The losers looked particularly thrustful in the initial stages of the second half when they valiantly tried to erase the one-goal deficit, but fizzled out after conceding the second goal.
Bagan, who went into the lead in the 13th minute when Lolendra found the target showing good marksmanship, got the second goal in the 70th minute as SK Sanjib tapped home with a left footer following a brilliant cross from MD Tariq. Bureau Report
