Ahmedabad, Sept 27: Nearly 250 people, including 175 children, were hospitalised for food poisoning after they consumed sweets at a community function at Jamnagar, in western Gujarat, official sources said here today. However, most of them have been discharged and a few who complained of excessive vomiting were still kept in the hospital, sources added.
"People had consumed Boondi and Ganthia at mass dinner on the occasion of Urs festival celebrated by local Muslim community last night and complained of vomiting,” sources said adding, "cause of the problem is still being investigated”.
