Indian Army chief agrees to boost cooperation with Philippines
Manila, Oct 01: Visiting Indian Army chief General Nirmal Chander Vij and his Philippine counterpart Lieutenant General Gregorio Camiling agreed today to boost bilateral military exchanges and cooperation, a statement said.

Vij, on a three-day official visit here, met with the military Chief of Staff and Secretary of Defence before agreeing with Camiling to "enhance further the bilateral exchange on intelligence and military operations training especially on counterinsurgency," the Filipino military statement said.
No details of the enhanced military cooperation were released, although it was noted that a visiting Indian Army officer had recently graduated at the top of his class at the Philippine command and General Staff College.
