Los Angeles, Jun 01: British superstars David and Victoria Beckham have been making an impact in the United States, where they were among the celebrities presenting The 2003 MTV Movie Awards.
England captain David Beckham and his wide 'Posh Spice' stole the show at a star-studded Hollywood movie awards ceremony on Saturday (May 31) in Los Angeles. They joined a host of celebrities for the presentation of the MTV Music Awards including film actors Harrsion Ford and Keanu Reeves, Oscar winner Adrien Brody and Pop star Pink, among others. Britain's number one couple arrived at the Strine Auditorium wearing stunning matching white outfits. Victoria revealed a fuller figure in a sheer white dress complete with a low-cut, off-the-shoulder bustier-type top that was studded with diamonds. Greeted by delirious fans, she said the couple was enjoying their tour of America. "You know, it is great, we have met some fantastic people. I am working with some amazing producers and it's just great. It's nice and sunny, we've got the kids with us, we have been swimming and we are having a bit of a break here."


David ditched his corn-braid hairstyle for a swept-back look and sported rough-look film star stubble. The Manchester United midfielder, wearing a white casual linen suit with open-neck white shirt, spoke about his favourite act.


"Hum, '50 cent' I think for me, but you know there are so many great performers here tonight. You know I think it's gonna be a great show"


Both wore silver and diamonds with Beckham adorning himself with a big silver diamond crucifix over his shirt. Victoria explained they were not a mission to conquer America.


"I think it's very flattering you know, I mean, it's a bit of a joke and we have good personalities, so you don't take it too seriously. But it's not the intention to come out here and try and crack America, you know. Like I said, I am just working with some people out here, David has pre-season training here, we are just here having a good time you know."


The soccer star, his right arm in a plaster cast to heal his broken wrist, sees a bright future for his family in the United States.


"Yeah, I think you know we was (were) in New York for five days and we loved it there but you know now we have come here you know and it's amazing so maybe one day we will," he said.


The glamourous evening was hosted by singer Justin Timberlake and film actor Seann William Scott. A total of four pop corns awards were handded to "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers". Rapstar and Film actor Eminem won two prizes, Best Breakthrough male performance and Best Male performance, for his role in the film "8 Mile".


After watching "50 cent", the British couple received a huge round of applause when they stepped on stage to present the MTV UK Transatlantic Breakthrough Award Winner.


Victoria announced the nominees, including Jude Law, Keira Knightly, Orlando Bloom and Rosamund Pike. She then revealed the winner, Colin Farrell, who kissed her before accepting the award.


Along with the Best Movie award for "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers", MTV viewers gave it best action sequence, on-screen team for stars Elijah Wood, Sean Astin and digitally-created Gollum, as well as a new honor for virtual performance for Gollum.


Winners were picked from a poll of viewers who watch cable TV network MTV and sister channel MTV2.


Among superhero movies winning awards was "Spider-Man," about the web-spinning crime fighter, which earned Kirsten Dunst the title best actress and her and co-star Tobey Maguire the honor of best on-screen kiss.


The award for breakthrough actress went to Jennifer Garner for her comic book hero role of Elektra in "Daredevil."

Rapper Eminem was named best actor in a film, as well as breakthrough performance by an actor in "8 Mile," the tale of his early days trying to make it in Detroit's hip hop clubs.
