Jaipur, June 11: Rajasthan government has decided to introduce a new pension scheme for its employees to be recruited now onwards to check its ever increasing pension payment burden, official sources here said today. The new scheme to be effective from April one this year would be contributory in which the employees would make contribution to their pension fund, sources said.
The decision to introduce the new pension scheme was announced by state finance minister in his budget speech early this year.
The amount of an employee's contribution in pension fund, however, is yet to be decided. It would be as per the Central government, sources said.
No deduction is made from an employee's salary towards pension under the old rules. There had been deductions for General Provident Fund (GPF) and the deposits made in it was returned with interest on retirement.
