Hyderabad, June 09: A four-day Central Advisory Council (CAC) meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) began here today to take stock of the situation prevailing in the country as well as around the world. The 19-member council meeting, presided over by JIH all India president Dr Abdul Haq Ansari, would formulate policy and programmes for the coming four years, JIH President (AP and Orissa zone) Moulana Abdul Basit Anwar told a news agency. The meeting would also discuss at length various issues concerning Muslims besides appointing office bearers for the period 2003-2007, he said.
Dr Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyasi, spokesperson of the all India Muslim Personal Law Board and a member of CAC, is among those attending the meeting. Bureau Report
