Bank advances loans for farmers in Haryana
Chandigarh, June 13: Haryana state Cooperative Apex (HarCo) Bank has so far advanced loans amounting to Rs 603 crore out of a target of Rs 1800 crore to farmers for the Kharif 2003 season.

A target to disburse cooperative loans amounting to Rs 4205 crore had been fixed for the current financial year, a spokesman of the bank said.
Loans amounting to Rs 11,496.24 crore had been advanced to farmers, rural artisans, small industrialists and agricultural labour during the last three years, he said.
He said so far 9.47 lakh kisan credit cards had been issued through a network of 19 central cooperative banks.

A sum of Rs 53.62 crore had been advanced to farmers by the bank under the revolving cash credit scheme for non-agricultural purposes. Under the scheme, a farmer could get a loan upto Rs two lakh, he said.
The bank was advancing rural housing loans upto Rs five lakh, which were returnable in 15 years, to boost construction of houses in rural areas.
