Guwahati, Oct 22: Chief of Army Staff General N C Vij today visited troops in the forward areas in Arunachal Pradesh and reviewed the border situation, defence sources said. General Vij, on a two-day tour to of the 4 Corps Zone, arrived in Tezpur yesterday and was accompanied by GOC-in-C Eastern Command Lt Gen J S Varma. He will return to Tezpur later in the day and be briefed in detail about the present situation in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. General Vij was accompanied to the forward areas by GOC Gajraj Corps Lt Gen Mohinder Singh and air commodore Abhay Gupta, the sources added. Bureau Report
