New Delhi, July 14: Amid continuing raids on the properties of his political opponent Parkash Singh Badal and his family members, Punjab chief minister Amrinder Singh today met deputy prime minister L K Advani who had earlier criticised the congress government's actions.
Though details of the discussion were not immediately available, state government sources said the chief minister discussed "developmental issues" concerning Punjab with Advani.
The state Vigilance Bureau had yesterday raided a resort owned by Badal's son and Rajya Sabha member Sukhbir Singh Badal at Gurgaon in Haryana.
Earlier this month, Advani had charged the Amrinder Singh government with carrying out a "witch hunt" against Akali Dal by launching the raids and said "political vendetta had no place in democracy".
"In a democracy, no one in power should resort to any action with a feeling of revenge as otherwise democracy and federalism will not be effective," Advani had said.
