Sonepat, June 04: Haryana Janata Dal (U) President Ved Prakash Vidrohi today alleged that Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala was misusing central funds for various development works in the rural areas for his "political motives". He said the State government had nominated persons affiliated to the ruling Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in development committees causing "friction among the elected representatives and the government-sponsored development committees". He urged Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to direct the Union Rural Development Ministry to send the funds directly to the gram panchayats for development works and "the State government should not interfere in the utilisation of such funds".
