Bhopal, Oct 15: Lashing out at VHP for the proposed mass rally at Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today warned that any move to disturb the status quo, violating court orders, would `trigger anarchy and turmoil across the country'. "If court orders, for maintaining status quo in Ayodhya till a final settlement, is violated, anarchy will spread in the country... Such actions have led to disastrous consequences elsewhere", Yadav said kicking off his party's campaign for Madhya Pradesh assembly polls at a meeting here. "The country is governed by the rule of law and it is the duty of all to respect the constitution and judiciary", he said asking people to defeat `communal' BJP and `directionless' Congress and ensure victory for Samajwadi Party.

Describing the scheduled Ayodhya programme on October 17 as `inhuman' as it comes after devastating floods in Uttar Pradesh, he said, "blinded by religion people in large number are rushing to Ayodhya, unmindful of the plight of the flood-ravaged poor".

Accusing BJP of trying to `impose a communal atmosphere' in the country, he held Congress responsible for installation and continuance of Vajpayee government at the Centre and said "because of wrong policies of congress, BJP-led NDA is ruling ... Infact power was to come to Samajwadi Party".

Stating that BJP and Sangh Parivar were `not bothered' about problems like poverty, unemployment and security threat, he said "BJP wants to build temple ignoring real issues while Samajwadi Party is determined to build a strong nation. Let the people decide what should be built".
