Bangalore, Jan 08: Rajya Sabha member Karan Singh today said he agreed with the "healing touch policy" of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed government in Jammu and Kashmir but declined to be drawn into the issue of release of militants.
"I agree with his healing touch policy. I have been
writing about this (giving a healing touch) for long", Singh
told reporters on the sidelines of a symposium on "Science and
Beyond", organised by the National Institute of Advanced
Studies here and US-based John Templeton Foundation.
Asked about the release of militants, he said it was a matter on which only those in power could decide.
On the performance of the J&K government, he said it was only two months since the new administration assumed office and therefore it was "too soon" to judge on that issue. But, he said, it had got off to a "good start". "We have to give time (to Mufti Mohammed Sayeed to judge)."
Declining to comment on any "final solution" to the Kashmir issue, he said he was in favour of an Indo-Pak dialogue. Bureau Report
