Tiwari today announced a self-certification regime for
industries whereby they will no longer be required to get a
certificate from the government agencies.
The government has decided that existing capacity,
existing investments, capacity enhancements, capacity
extension, additional capacity and other investments can now
be certified by any chartered engineer or charted accountant,
Tiwari announced at a seminar on export promotion from
Uttaranchal organized by the Federation of Indian Export
Organization (FIEO).
The new regime comes into force with immediate effect, he said.
Describing the new regime as "hassle-free", Tiwari said the government has brought the new measure keeping on lines with its assurance to the industry to provide better atmosphere than any other state of the country.
Referring to the land procurement for setting up industries in the state, Tiwari assured the industrialists that the government would act as a facilitator to develop industries in the state.
"You identify the land, we will provide all facilities," he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Lalit Mansingh Director General of Foreign Trade (Government of India) asked the Uttaranchal government to build up its infrastructure and connectivity for attracting investments in the state.
