Barcelona, Mar 10: In 2004 Jaguar must prove it is going forward rather than falling back. The team, bankrolled by Ford but struggling for finance, recorded its best year in 2003 and must improve. The Australia's Mark Webber is probably the team's greatest asset. Webber, a revelation of the 2003 season with some superb qualifying performances, scored 17 of the team's 18 points. Since its creation in 2000 Jaguar has finished ninth in 2000, eighth in 2001, and seventh in 2002. The team finished seventh out of 10 teams once again last season, ahead of Toyota but behind Sauber and BAR. For 2004 Webber is retained, despite reported offers from some bigger teams. But the team dropped British driver Justin Wilson in favour of a young Austrian driver, Christian Klein, who has only driven in the much lower Formula Three category. Klein brings much needed sponsorship money to the team but will have to learn the tracks as well as learn to cope with the power of a Formula One car.
