Ahmedabad, July 20: At least one person was killed and 12 injured when police opened fire to control communal violence at a town here on Friday night. Curfew was imposed on Virangam Taluka town of Ahmedabad rural district where police fired to disperse clashing groups after lobbing of teargas shells failed to bring them under control. The trouble began when youths from two different communities clashed at around 1830 hours. As the standoff continued, the violence spread bringing in its grip more people from both sides, the sources said. Bureau Report
