EC transfers five officials in Tripura
New Delhi, Dec 04: The Election Commission has ordered transfer of five officials including Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura for conduct of `free and fair` summary revision of electoral rolls in the state where assembly polls are scheduled early next year.

Besides the joint CEO, a sub-divisional officer and an
additional sub-divisional officer in Kanchanpur and two
assistant electoral registration officers in Bamutia and
Barjala Assembly constituencies have also been transferred, EC
sources said.
The term of the CPI-M led Manik Sarkar government is ending on March 22 next. Deputy Election Commissioner Sayan Chatterjee and consultant K J Rao had visited the state last month to review poll arrangements. Bureau Report
